Bristol, Indiana
Once a river port, Bristol, Indiana evolved into a railroad town in the mid-1800's. The population of Bristol, Indiana makes it a truly small town of about 1600 people. Almost 200 years since its founding, Bristol, Indiana is surrounded by farmland turned industrial, which has helped to employ many in this small town. Being located in Elkhart County at the bend of the St. Joseph River, Bristol is known for its natural beauty. The second weekend of September, the Bonneyville Celebration is an agricultural event featuring people dressed in period clothing, live entertainment, arts, and crafts. Bristol, Indiana is a great town to visit in the fall due to its multi-colored foliage, and is also home to RV manufacturing and the country's largest corn dog producer, as well. Be sure and visit the Elkhart County Historical Museum while there. Below is a video of Flintlock and Tomahawk re-enactors at a festival in Bristol.
